Teina is a co-designer of Tihei-Wa Mauri Ora with Vivienne Body (1945-2016). Teina lives in Ahipara in the far north with her husband and children. She is an experienced Mana Enhancing Counsellor & Addictions Practitioner. The philosophy of Tihei-Wa Mauri Ora is based on mātauranga Māori – the ‘knowing’ that the Māori worldview holds the knowledge for Māori to make sense of their own lives and create their own healing journey. The model and resources are significantly informed by writings from Rev. Māori Marsden (Royal.C. Ed. 2003). Tihei-Wa Mauri Ora was developed with and endorsed by kaumatua and kuia.
