Christina grew up in Glen Innes, East Auckland #GItillidie After studying Māori Business she became especially interested in Indigenous entrepreneurship and how local solutions could solve many of the problems humanity faces today. She knows that Indigenous peoples have the solutions to a lot of the challenges in this world and she exists to amplify those voices.
Maarie was born and raised in Whanganui and moved to Te Whanganui-a-Tara when she was 16 years old to study Sports and Exercise to further her mātauranga. Maarie's whānau are a big part of her life and all the mahi she does is contribute to a better āo for her irāmutu, siblings and future uri and has dreams of being able to work for her people within the hauora space.
Mana Taiohi is te āo Māori informed principles of good youth development. It is informed by the voice of taiohi, people who work with young people, and Aotearoa-based literature about Positive Youth Development. In this presentation, we will provide an overview of Mana Taiohi as well as the ways it can be applied to your mahi to support the well-being of not only taitamariki but their whānau and wider hāpori. For us, Mana Taiohi is 101 to becoming a good tupuna.
